Our Responsibility
At Fine Little Day, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a tangible practice. It’s about making intentional choices every day that result in products built to last – in both quality and design. We strive for quality in all aspects of the production, fair to people and the environment.Long-term thinking is our foundation. Materials are carefully selected, with a focus on organic, recycled, and natural alternatives wherever possible. Linen, organic cotton, and FSC-certified wood aren’t just checkboxes on a list – they’re the cornerstones of how we work.
Our production partners share our commitment to fair working conditions and environmental care. We prioritize small-scale artisans and local producers to reduce unnecessary transportation and support people who are genuinely passionate about their craft.
While we’re far from perfect, we strive to contribute to a world that respects and values nature’s resources. Drawing inspiration from the natural world comes with a responsibility to give back – and that’s a responsibility we take seriously.

Design Philosophy
Artistically driven design
Our inspiration comes from where it has always been: in the things that don’t try to be anything other than what they are – nature and the life unfolding around us. The simple, but never boring. It’s everywhere, as long as you take the time to pause and notice it.
We believe in starting where we stand. Using and elevating what’s already around us, finding beauty in the everyday, is a vital part of our vision.
There’s something we love about the unpretentious ease of the playful and the spontaneous – and we try to capture that spirit in most of what we do.
We’re also drawn to the meeting point of craft and story. A hand-carved wooden bird that bears the marks of its maker, or a ceramic bowl that feels more alive and present than perfect. Traces of the hand – those hints of the person behind the object– are something we deeply value.
Design is more than a surface – it’s an extension of how we view life. Products shouldn’t just be beautiful to look at; they should also stand the test of time, both in function and form. You won’t find seasonal or trend-driven collections here. Our patterns and materials are chosen with care, and we aim to design objects that feel as relevant in ten years as they do today.
Production
Our production takes place in different parts of the world, and we see it as our responsibility to promote fair and sustainable conditions wherever we are. We work with producers who share our values of respect, transparency, and good working conditions. Through long-term relationships and a shared environmental mindset, we strive to contribute to a more thoughtful and caring industry – where every link in the chain matters.
Print on demand
To reduce our environmental footprint, we've chosen to work with print on demand – a conscious decision that means each poster is printed only when you order it. No more mass-produced stock, no unnecessary overproduction.
This allows us to offer more designs, more sizes, and more room for you to find exactly what you're looking for. At the same time, we're saving natural resources and reducing waste. Our printed pieces are made with care, using thoughtfully selected materials that stand the test of time – so that each product feels as considered as it is beautiful.
Our Materials
We carefully select materials that are natural, durable, and responsibly sourced. Our products are made from:

Linen
A long-lasting favorite, linen is made from flax – a resilient plant that requires less water and fewer chemicals than cotton to grow. Its natural texture and breathability make it a timeless and sustainable.
Most of our kitchen textiles, such as tablecloths, table runners and kitchen towels, are made from linen.

Cotton
We work primarily with GOTS-certified organic cotton, cultivated without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Organic cotton is gentler on the earth, the people who grow it, and the end user.
Some of our products made from cotton include muslin blankets.

Wool
A natural fiber that offers warmth, breathability, and longevity. Wool is renewable and biodegradable, and with proper care, it lasts for generations.
Our blankets are made from 100% New Zealand wool, which is also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified.

Paper
Our posters are printed on FSC™-certified and Nordic Swan Ecolabelled paper. This ensures that the paper comes from responsibly managed forests and meets strict criteria for environmental impact, energy use, and chemicals.

Wood
We use FSC-certified wood for our trays and frames. The certification guarantees that the wood is sourced from forests where biodiversity, worker rights, and long-term sustainability are prioritized.

Feathers and Down
Our inner cushions are filled with down and feathers – a material chosen for its natural softness and durability. We work with suppliers who follow ethical sourcing practices and comply with regulations around animal welfare.

Porcelain Clay
Our porcelain clay products, such as cups and bowls, are manufactured in a renowned porcelain factory in Hanoi, Vietnam, whose production meets international labour standards, offers safe environments, insurance, health programs and empowering opportunities for Vietnamese women. Porcelain clay as a material gives both strength and finesse to our products, and skilled artisans shape and glaze each product with care to highlight the character and variety of natural materials.
Certifications
We work different certifications to guarantee that our product meets verified environmental or social criteria across our supply chain, giving you greater transparency and credibility in your choices. By asking for eco-labelled products, you and we contribute to a more sustainable production and future.

GOTS Certified Cotton
The Global Organic Textile Standard(GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. Certification to GOTS ensures the organic status of fabrics, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible making. These fabrics are manufactured without using hazardous chemicals, protecting biodiversity, farm and factory workers as well as the end consumer. Most of our cotton products are GOTS certified, such as cushion covers and muslin blankets.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a label for textiles tested for harmful substances. It sets the benchmark for textile safety, from yarn to finished product. Every item bearing the STANDARD 100 label is certified as having passed safety tests for the presence of harmful substances.

FSC™ (Forest Stewardship Council)
The Forest Stewardship Council is an international, non-profit organization and labeling scheme for wood and paper. This international initiative promotes sustainable forest management from an ecological, social and economic perspective. In FSC forestry, animals and plant life are protected and no more wood is felled than the forest can reproduce, either through natural regeneration or replanting. In addition the FSC™ ensures that workers' rights throughout the certified supply chain are respected. All our posters are printed on FSC-certified paper, and our wooden frames and trays are also made from FSC-labelled wood.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the official ecolabel of the Nordic countries. Our posters are printed on Nordic Swan Ecolabelled, and FSC-certified, paper at one of Sweden's Nordic Swan Ecolabelled printing companies. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel aims to reduce environmental and climate impact and promote a good working environment, eg through requirements for printing materials, chemicals and energy consumption.
Packaging & Logistics

Packaging
Our packaging is part of the whole experience – but also an important part of our sustainability work. That's why we carefully choose both materials and methods, and no longer use plastic in our packaging solutions. We aim to use as little as possible, without compromising on protection or feel. Each order is packed to fit just right, to avoid shipping empty space. Whenever possible, we reuse boxes and filling materials – a small but meaningful step in reducing waste. Our vision is to create beautiful, functional packaging with the smallest possible environmental impact. And we're always looking for even better ways to do it.
Logistics
We collaborate with carefully selected suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and responsibility. Our logistics partner, DHL, is actively working to reduce its climate impact through fossil-free delivery initiatives, the electrification of its vehicle fleet, and investments in more energy-efficient terminals.
By choosing a partner with clear goals and transparency in their climate efforts, we can take meaningful steps together towards a more sustainable supply chain. For us, it's about more than moving products from A to B – it's about doing so with care, respect, and as little environmental impact as possible.
Socialt responsibility
At Fine Little Day, we strive to build a sustainable and inclusive business, where our actions are guided by care and respect – for our customers, colleagues, and partners alike.
Towards our customers
We want to offer our customers a sense of trust, transparency, and inspiration. Our vision is to provide products and information that help them make conscious choices while feeling confident in our brand.
We share clear information about our materials, production, and sustainability efforts, and our service is rooted in care and personal connection to make every experience with us feel as genuine as possible.
Towards our colleagues
We strive to create a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. We are committed to maintaining an environment free from discrimination and inequality, and we take a clear stand against injustice. Our team is our greatest asset, and we make sure to hire people who share our values and our passion for what we do together.
Towards our partners
Our collaborations with suppliers and makers are built on long-term relationships and mutual respect. Wherever possible, we choose to work with small-scale artisans and local producers who share our values around sustainability and fair working conditions. In doing so, we reduce unnecessary transport and support people who are truly passionate about their craft.
For us, social responsibility means building sustainable relationships and caring for the places and people we're connected to. We continuously strive to ensure our actions reflect our belief that, together, we can make a positive difference.
Local collaborations
We believe in working closely with our collaborators, seeking out those with a bold aesthetic vision – people who are passionate about what they do and leave their unique mark on their craft. Whether it's an artist or a producer, they always bring a high level of craftsmanship and that unmistakable presence of the hand – that speaks to us on a deeper level.
Our aim is to create a platform where more local voices can be heard, where ideas and projects find the momentum they need. That's why we welcome proposals and collaborations from anyone who shares our commitment to a sustainable and thoughtful way of living. If you have something you think fits, don't hesitate to reach out.
Local collaborations are more than just partnerships – they're an opportunity to shape a future where creativity and care walk hand in hand. We look forward to discovering new stories and connections where small initiatives can create a big impact.
Conscious Consumption
Conscious consumption isn't just about making sustainable choices – it's about rethinking how we live and what we surround ourselves with. At Fine Little Day, we see it as a shared responsibility – ours as a company and yours as a customer – to build a future where we cherish what we have and reduce our impact on the planet.
As a customer, you can help extend the life of our products with small, intentional actions. It's about choosing carefully, using items mindfully, and following our care instructions to ensure they last longer. Taking care of what you own is a simple way to challenge throwaway culture – a small act that makes a big difference.
But conscious consumption doesn't stop there. We encourage reuse and recycling too. Passing items on, whether they've been loved for years or need a second chance, is another way to extend their lifespan. What no longer serves you might bring joy to someone else. And when it's time for something new, we strive to offer options that are easy to recycle, helping materials find their way into new creations.
Conscious consumption is about building sustainable habits – taking responsibility for what we consume and treating our belongings with care. It's a way to contribute to a world where quality, function, and thoughtfulness matter more than fleeting trends – a world where we can make a difference together.
